Pernicious anaemia

Good morning from England everyone. First of all thank you to everyone who has taken time to reply to me in the past.

My update is I was diagnosed with PA after a big stomach operation 40 years ago. I was told they cut through my vagus nerve which resulted in me having pernicious anaemia. I was given B12 after feeling very poorly for 18 months and started to feel better. 5 years ago I had a routine blood test two days after my B12 injections. This young doctor told me I no longer needed B12 injections even though I told him I had PA. I’ve been trying to get them back ever since. I feel dreadful now. Stomach problems. Crying. Fatigue. Sore tongue. Cuts at side of my mouth and my legs feeling strange. I’m having a telephone call with a new GP this afternoon so wish me luck. Take care everyone and thank you again.

The ignorance among the medical profession about b12 deficiency and pa is astounding. I am so sorry you have to go through this.

Hedgehogs15 there is an option to edit a post under the More button - I've edited your original post to correct daughter to doctor and have deleted the post that mentioned this.

Hope you get the injections back
