I have just been diagnosed with cirrhosis.I have been having B12 injections for the past 7 yrs 6wkly.I have them 12wkly at the docs and I self inject in between.

Should I continue with the 6wkly schedule or go back to the 12wkly that my doctors administer.

I know the liver stores B12.Just would like some advice please.

Thank you.

I think I would be tempted to increase the B12. Are you taking folate too?

Here is an interesting study showing low levels of both and non fatty non-alcoholic liver. mdpi.com/2072-6643/10/4/440

Get some good quality milk thistle (and Schisandra) and take regularly. Better still, see a herbalist.

I woujd continue if you are well on it. Csnt think of why to change because if your cirrhosis . Ask your doctor fir reassurance.

They know you have b12.

Depends on your symptoms and whether an absorbtion problem or PA.

I f a temporary dietary or caused by a medication yiu were on its different.

Only you know really

If you have a B12 absorption problem then the stores in the liver are irrelevant. Cirrhosis can be associated with high levels of serum B12 because damage to the liver causes it to dump stores and once that has done I don't think it can actually store B12 in the same way. B12 does not damage the liver .... so continue with B12 and listen to your symptoms to decide on frequency.
