I've had iron infusions for the ten years on an off they had to change the one they was giving me as I developed a allergy to it so have a different one now , recently they started to check my b12 two yrs ago I had one shot and ended up in AE with no blood pressure and feeling very unwell they done a skin prick allergy test for b12 it came back fine nothing was followed up. Now recent bloods show in hb is 8.4 and b12 is 69 the dr is on concerned about b12 level so arranging me to go in with antihistamines and steroid shots before the b12 is given and hope for the best 😬

If your B12 result is 69 , it is dangerously low , and you should be receiving B12 injections to get it to a safe level . Then your doctor should be finding out why your B12 level was so very low .. Very important to get that reason.
Yes the Dr said they were low, this time last Yr they was 129. I've had numerous tests over the years and all I keep getting is its malabsorption problem so no further forward. B12 last time gave me a very bad reaction. Going in for my iron infusion first
I didn't go well with b12 injections, had every symptom of a deficiency after having them, unfortunately if you have absorption problem then it may be only way of getting levels up, I too went to emergency few times after my shots. Maybe some people just get reactions.
