Stomach issues

After reading another post, I thought I would ask about these stomach issues I have. I had gotten an inkling they might have been caused by the pernicious anemia but kind of blew it off. The other post mentions people who need something acidic to drink with meals. For many years before diagnosis, I found that if I didn’t have something other than water with my meal, I would often have stomach upset that could even lead to gagging during the meal sometimes. Over the few years before diagnosis This had also become a frequent occurrence just randomly at any point in the day. I would feel queasy then start gagging sometimes so hard I would vomit. I learned to grab a soda or at least a piece of candy as soon as I felt the queasiness. Reminds me of pregnancy. Could this actually be related to the pernicious anemia?

It can be but can also be linked to gluten intolerance so needs checking out by your doctor -especially as it has gone on for a long time.

If it’s happenening wven without meals, it could be hypoglycemia. Try low carb diets, eliminate sugars for a few weeks and see if you see any difference. Or get tested for diabetes.
