Could my hip pain be something to do with PA?

I was diagnosed with PA last March. I've had hip pain for about 3 years but it is getting a lot worse since last year. Pain killers don't work and the exercises physio give me only make the pain worse. I went to see a chiropractor yesterday and he was a bit baffled because I'm very flexible so he doesn't think it's anything mechanical. Could it be PA related and how do I get my GP to take me seriously? I've had no diagnostics for the hip pain at all and when I mention PA they aren't interested and just say my B12 levels should be fine. It's very frustrating

Ask the GP to send you for an MRI.

I have P.A and also suffered from hip pain and so I got my consultant to refer me for a dexa scan,it showed I had quite quickly moved on from osteopenia in my hip/ spine to oesteoporosis in less than two years.I’m now waiting to see my neurologist, when Covid lockdown eases ill do it, as I want an mri of spine and head done because I now know p.a can cause demyelination and I’m curious to see just exactly how much damage the untreated p.a has caused. As fbirder says talk to your gp and push for further investigations best of luck x

I had hip pain initially - it was one of the first symptoms I had. Left hip, left groin pain and lower back pain made it hard to stand up straight for long -I remember having to hold onto the bus-stop sign while waiting for the bus to work. A lot of clicking too but nothing was found on scans.

I was given physio who treated it as if it was bursitis- which was helpful but didn't last beyond the day.

This got a lot better once having B12 injections at appropriate frequency. Still an occasional problem if standing still for too long.

I was later found to have osteoporosis of the spine but they could not identify where exactly, so unsure if this was related. I was told that I should not be getting any pain from the osteoporosis.

Nothing here to help particularly beyond saying yes, I think hip pain can be B12 deficiency related and certainly I can't think of any other reason beyond B12 injections for my pain to have been alleviated. It took a while though.

B1 deficiency may also lead to pain. I’ve just started a b complex per my naturopaths request. She’s going to check those levels in 1 month. She doesn’t ever look at b-12 levels in someone SI b-12.
