Yup.
Thank you for contacting me about the impact of coronavirus on vitamin B12 injections.
I agree it is important that patients are able to continue to access the care they need, which is why I fully support the NHS is Open campaign, urging the public to seek urgent care and treatment, as well as steps being taken to restore NHS services necessarily postponed by the pandemic. I know Jane and if it is important to you I am very happy to help her in this campaign to make B12 available OTC.
I understand that the British Society for Haematology has issued guidance on vitamin B12 replacement during the pandemic, which states that needs for injections should be discussed with each patient individually. It suggests that oral supplements can be prescribed until it is possible to return to regular injections, with patients monitoring symptoms and reporting any changes to their GP directly.
I would urge any patients whose symptoms change to contact their GP directly and immediately.
Much better reply. . Good.
Did you write by email or on paper? I sent an email dictated !
Email.
I've sent him several emails on various topics and I've always had a satisfactory response. Unlike his predecessor.
No! Nothing from my MP, Edward Argar.
I had a reply from Jane as she is my MP too.
Basically the MHRA is blocking the OTC sale, saying it needs tobe prescribed.
Very frustrating.
May have to try another approach e.g doctors assisting or training for SI
