B12 shouldn’t influence weight loss/weight gain. So unless there are other factors in play (eg under active thyroid) a calorie deficit should eventually lead to weight loss.

Unfortunately some people do tend to have spots with B12 injections. If I get them it tends to be around my hairline. Hopefully as your body settles down after the initial loading injections they will reduce. I rarely get them now although I know some people on this forum have found it more of a problem. There is a search facility so you might be able to find other posts and answers on this subject as it has come up quite a few times.

Yes spots are quite common especially at the loading phases . I had them all around my hairline on my neck and face I rarely get them now.

I lost just under a stone initially. I believe my metabolism speeded up on b12 injections initially . I was eating alot as it was the only thing that stopped nausea .k was bedbound at the time and fois brought to me.

It would make sense to gain some weight after starting B12 injections if your deficiency had resulted in weight loss and you return to a normal diet. I lost weight because I was unable to taste food and hence a lack of appetite. Once I began injections and symptoms began to subside, I could once again taste food and put back on weight I had lost. On the flip side, B12 injections will restore your energy, allow you to get out of bed and feel good enough to exercise again. Good luck!

For me, it is helpful to take 5 mg biotin on every day I'm injecting. Spots are gone since. The bacteria on the skin takes advantage of the B12 as well, they like it and that's what causes spots in return. Fbirder could give a more scientific description, I assume.

Anyhow, the skin blemishes should diminish after the phase of loading dose.

Are these spots light in color? I’ve been getting spots like those on my arms and legs so checking to see if those are correlated with b12 injections.

I am talking about acne alike skin blemishes which can occur when you start injecting B12. Those should commonly disappear in time. When you think yours are somehow odd, you should ask your GP or dermatologist and tell them about your therapy.

With AIG/PA, it's likely to develop another autoimmune disease. Very often the thyroid is affected, was it checked also? Weight gain can be a symptom of an underactive thyroid as well as skin alteration.

Yes thyroid was checked. GP has no idea but I’ll continue investigating. TY!
