Never suffered with this before . Following sore dry inner ears.
Went for my IM b12 at the surgery.
Had no opportunity to discuss my scalp ad had to yet again fight my corner.
The nurses that had got to know me have left.
So see a different one every time. They never read the notes . I was told I'd I'd arrived too early and was not due an injection. . I was in fact 2 weeks later as chose not to go before Christmas when I thought it was on . Wed decided to all isolate 10 days before meeting for christmas. (Had if at home) But Christmas was cancelled as went into tier 4.
She just didnt listen. She then said my injections were 6 weekly and under review .
I nearly 'lost it' because she was very animated . Only had a small single face mask on and was almost dancing v around the room. I simply said I need the injection and then to leave.
Could she please speak to the doctor or have another read of my notes. (Which she should have done before getting me in!!) I'd been waiting outside the building.
Anyway before nearly leaving she suddenly realised i was telling the truth .
Then tried to turn it round that the notes were not clear and what I said really didnt make sense.
Noone had b12 injections 2 weekly !! Certainly not injecting at home as well
No apology
No chance to discuss scalp. If after the event I would say caused by stress. Anyhow new to me . Anyone else had this ? I really thought nothing else could be added to the list of symptoms.

In answer to your question, I get itchy scalp and ears. I saw a dermatologist recently and he told me I have discoid eczema. This is a recent thing for me too. Not sure if it is connected with B12 but would be interested to know if others are affected.
Hubby has a sore slightly scabby strip across the back of his head, on his hairline and the last couple of weeks his face has been very dry looking and flaky. His injections have not been restarted yet, he’s taking 1000mcg tablets but I did wonder if he is deficient in other vitamins.
Yrs it's odd. Definitely a first fof me. Since b1e deficiency I have had a dry peeling nose like you've been in the sun. Akso other random dry patches.
I know its winter but very new .
I used almond oil and drops ofbcamomile oil lady night to sooth and stol the irritation.
Also got a shampoo with coal tar in to try.
It's not ringworm or lice or impetigo. . Worked with children too many years not to recognised that.
Just wondered if related to PA
In 'normal times' I would het it looked at but seems impossible to penetrate the system or get a decent photo to email??
It might be a simple matter that I've reduced fars as cholesterol high.
Sorry to hear you have had such a hard time with getting treatment. If you do a Google search of the following vitamins and click on 'images', you will see pics of other B deficiencies that badly affect the skin: B3, B5 and B6. Since having vitamin B cocktail injections, my skin has improved beyond recognition and, for the first time in my life, I have proper skin on my hands and even hand gel doesn't hurt. Hope this helps
Yes, when I am low on B12 my scalp at the base of my skull becomes scabby and sore, not very much but I do know it is connected to my B12 level.
Good morning Nackapan you could try massaging warmed up organic coconut oil through your scalp then put a hot towel around your head keep it on as long as possible then shampoo as normal with a baby shampoo. The coconut oil is anti fungal it may be a fungus infection you have in the hair follicles. You could also just try rubbing the coconut oil on the itchy areas two or three times a day. I don’t think it has anything to do with b12 I think it’s more likely to be a fungal infection.good luck x
Yup,I too get a very itchy scalp. Ive often wondered if its b12 related. Dry skin and hair too. Im sure Ive read somewhere that dry skin is b12 related but have no memory anymore as gp refuses to give b12 more regularily than 8 weeks.
I also wondered if it was hypothyroidism related which I also have.
Good luck with the nurse. I know exactly what you mean unfortunately. Why are they like this?
I have had a really itchy patch on top of my head for last few years. Nothing to see. Itching comes and goes but can be quite intense. I have wondered if it’s related to B12 deficiency but I have no idea. It will be interesting to see if it goes away with my other symptoms 🤞when I have had a bit more B12.
