Yes she did back in January 2017 when started injections but she hasn't mentioned it since. Nor the fact I've probably only ordered it 5 times in the last 16 months.
She never told me why I was taking it or what it did so I think that's not helped me feel the need to take it. It doesn't make me feel any different when I do.
She hasn't mentioned the b12 either even though she knows I'm still fatigued but my levels are high so no chance it could be that in her eyes.
Replacing B12 via your injection will lead to a huge increase in the production of blood cells and platelets (which occurs in the bone marrow) and can lead to rapid depletion of folate and iron stores; this can then limit the expected recovery of Haemoglobin. Both iron and folate may be needed.
Your Folate level at 8.49 (2.91-50) may be sufficient but I feel you need to be guided by your doctor in view of the above as it may well be that you need more frequent B12 injections.
Make a list of your symptoms and present this to your doctor and ask him to treat you according to your symptoms and (perhaps) even re-start you on loading doses "until there is no further improvement" according to the N.I.C.E guidelines below. Click on the link, then on "Scenario: Management" and scroll down to "Treatment for B12 deficiency"
Thank you. I dont really have neurological symptoms just horrendous fatiguez brain fog, fuzzy vision and air hunger. I have essential tremor but don't think it's related.
One 5 mg tablet of folic acid is more than 10 times the recommended daily amount. So taking just one should boost your folate levels sufficiently. There’s no need to take more.
