I understand that the IFAB has to be done preferably 3/4 weeks after an injection does the same apply to the gastric parietal antibodies test please. Also how does an injection effect both tests? I’m preparing a fight with my GP that is totally thick

I had my parietal antybody test before my first Injection. The Gp was quite insistent in that. Alot of people can test positive that do not have PA. So on it's own it's not supposed to be used to diagnose PA . Also if its negative about 20% do have PA!!

If you have high levels of b12 in your blood which you do so on injections it can give a false positive for the intrinsic factor antibody test.

If the latest updated test is used in the lab. you dont need long after an injection. We donr know what the labs use.

Fbirder explains it well on an earlier post if you perhaps try the search (magnifying glass)
