Hi again here are my results

Folate 8.6ug/l 3-20

Ferritin 48ug/l 10-150

(Ferritin - 25-74 does n8t exclude iron deficiency if there is significant acute or chronic disease)

Vit d 66.7 don't know range but I'm in north west.

Any advice would be appreciated

Hi - if you click onto your username Soundwell1 you can read your earlier posts and Replies where you asked about the above vitamins and minerals before ...

Writing with my Thyroid UK hat on - your results look low.

What are you supplementing - and how much ?

B12 1000 micrograms

Vit D 4,000 iu vit c 125

No k2

No folate or ferratin. I'm not sure what amount or indeed if I ca n use it as my stomach isn't so good at digesting.

I also have allergies to citral linalool cobalt and balsam of Peru which cross reacts with so many things. I can't have sodium benzoate.

I noticed on another reply to you in a TUK thread - I suggested a B12 lozenge that dissolves under the tongue. Perhaps that could prevent your sensitivity.

Low Ferritin could affect your conversion of T4 into T3. Do you know your T3 level ?

Which iron supps have you tried ?

Hi, I will try lozenge thanks.

I did always have poor conversion but endo did put me on ndt and it's now 4.8 but it will go down again as I couldn't tolerate ndt . t3 used to be was 2.8 My antibodies are high at the moment attacking my thyroid again.

I would be interested in ferritin if you know any sort that may suit me.

Also I haven't actually tried iron supplements,

I'd be grateful for any advice.

Would that be the TSH that is 4.8 ? If so it is far too high. FT3 looks below range - do you have the range. ( labs do vary) What are you taking if NDT didn't suit ?

I don't have an iron problem - I eat liver once a week and Black Pudding !!

Amazon sell Jarrow B12 lozenges. They also sell a Grass Fed Beef liver capsule - expensive but I have read it raises levels.

Allergies can be an immune response - and in turn could be linked to your LOW T3.

No not tsh it's the t3 that you enquired about.

.... and the FT3 range ? So what are you taking g now you have stopped NDT ?

Soundwell1 in reply toMarz

T4 obviously.

Marz in reply toSoundwell1

I take T3 - so it's not quite so obvious. You may also be taking a T4/T3 combo ...

Sure but I already told u that I tried it t4 n t3. It was an American one that the endo gave me. Caused heart probs and very low tsh 0.071 and pain in left neck like electric shocks.

He said it was difficult to get synthetic t3 . I'm sure you must know that nhs story.

I've recently found out, through private blood test, that my thyroid anti bodies were high. I didn't know I had hashi and I've had it for over 30 years.

I'm taking vit d and b12 but got diarrhoea just started when taking these bits so prob 1 of these bits is causing it.

You said you were taking NDT - which is measured quantities of T4 and T3 in one tablet. I was referring to individual tablets of T4 and T3 - a T4/T3 combo. It enables one to be more flexible with dosing
