My daughter is 15, had her 6th injection Friday but has had vertigo symptoms and her hands are shaking? Is this normal and should I treat the vertigo? Or will it pass?

Shaking & Vertigo after 6th loading injection...
It's normal to have strange sensations like this after injections. I developed an internal tremor and other awful symptoms. After a few days to weeks the symptoms generally lessened and stopped completely. Sometimes it took months.
With that being said, I'm not suggesting you use my opinion as medical advice.
Hi Dogwalker123 might pay to mention the vertigo to your daughter's doctor as this may be caused by something else such as Tinnitus - and also ask whether her Folate level was checked when the injections were started.
It is not uncommon for some neurological symptoms to appear to get worse after treatment has started.
I am not medically trained but have had P.A. (just one of many causes of B12 deficiency) for over 48 years.
I wish you and your daughter well.
Yes if the symptoms are new you should get treatment. I had the Epley manouvre. A pysio is best . The doctor failed and I ended up on 3rd attempt at home being successful before I paid to see a pysio and gor cawthorne e excuses to do .
Shaking isnt normal . I was shaking alot as part of the vestibular disturbance. Also found ferritin levels were dropping. As civealive says gets folate and potassium ferritin ect checked out.
Get her to eat little and often that helped me with the nausea with virtigo. There are medications if shes actually being g sick.
Sipping jamaican ginger beer or other forms of ginger can help.
Hopefully her symptoms will settle soon . I found after a week when b12 levels came down I ws a little better. But then too long they go too low again! Its finding the right balance of treatment she can tolerate.
Your daughter is young and it must be very scary.
Tell her it will improve.
Try the cawthorne e excuses found on line until you get seen.
Hi,
I hope she feels better soon.. many on this forum report an increase in symptoms after starting treatment.
Has GP checked her potassium levels?
Some people can develop low potassium (hypokalaemia)after starting B12 treatment. See side effects section in links below.

Taking potassium supplements can cause health issues so my personal opinion (I'm not medically trained) is that potassium supplements should only be taken under the guidance of a doctor.
Some on the forum try to make sure they eat a diet which has some potassium rich foods in it eg bananas.
I get vertigo if my folate levels drop - which is quite possible in your daughter's case as folate and B12 work together.
She she be blood tested for folate, potassium, magnesium, iron and vitamin D.
She will need all of these in particular, and a whole range of vitamins and minerals for the B12 to work properly.
Once she has had her blood tests it would be good for her to take a broad spectrum multivitamin and mineral supplement (supermarket A-Z ones are as good as any) and make sure she gets plenty of the others from her diet. It's good to do an online search of each of them to see what foods and drinks that are rich in these that she will like.
If she has a diet with plenty of meat, fish, veg - especially green stuff, nuts, particularly Brazils and fruit including bananas she won't go far wrong but I appreciate it's easier said than done. It works well but isn't very exciting!
I can understand your fears, especially as it's your daughter, but remember that symptoms are a body's way of telling you that something is wrong and needs fixing... And so there is a solution out there! It may take a bit of time to get the balance right but you are doing great and will get there.
Well done so far and good luck! 🍀
We are all different but many of us felt worse before better. It took me a long time to feel anything at all - and certainly could not tell if I'd had injections or not at first, so had to ask the nurses if they were done yet !
No response from loading injections, then a lot worse when on one injection every 3 months, before gradual improvements when frequent injections were reinstated. This was because methylmalonic acid (MMA )was tested and found to be raised. This level, usually raised initially, soon drops back to normal when B12 loading has repleted serum level, which did not happen in my case. This is quite unusual, but perhaps worth mentioning as a secondary test that can be requested if problems continue to worsen.
So although I would say any response to B12 injections is likely to be due to reparation, I would mention it to GP - if only because she is so young, and it might also help you to have confirmation that this is common. An early response like this might even prove to be a good sign eventually.
All the advice given above is sound and most of these people have also helped me in the past. I also found my folate, ferritin and vitamin D to be low and difficult to stabilise. Don't recall magnesium and potassium being checked, but are both included in the multivitamin and mineral tablet I take daily. I have taken these for years on Denise's advice.
