So my question is side effects??? After the injections is it normal to be so dizzy, room spinning, cannot concentrate abs feeling like your ‘not in your own head’? I haven’t been able to send her to school the last 2 days, how long until this might pass?? Any help appreciated, thank you.

I there i have have had issues of low b12 and iron with my daughter picked up at 13 , now 15, she had loading doses then 3 monthly injections, she tolerated injections well but were stopped nearly year ago on advice of peaditrition, however now they seem to be dropping again along with iron, my daughter tested positive to one part of the PA test so more than likely should have stayed on them, good luck with treatment i hope she recovers, ive been fighting this on off battle for 2 years now .

Thanks for replying, I’m so shocked at how unwell being deficient has made her! Low mood, worried to go out, cries a lot as so fed up with being poorly! How long before your daughter benefited and felt well after the injections?

Was probably few months i noticed a change, prior to that she slept alot, was tired all the time and generally down, stomach would hurt and was on toilet alot, she had alot of time of school and was losing weight, she however has complained of late, unable to focus and concentrate along with joint pain thats why ive just had everything retested and her b12 dropping again and low iron, hopefully more answers next week after more bloods, i believe her injections should never have been stopped but you go with what they say as hey there supposed to be the experts, heartbreaking watching your kids suffer.

Thanks for the info, yes she sleeps a lot, missing school, has had bad stomach too! Same symptoms but at least I know they are ‘normal’.

Yes just persist , has she had the tests for PA, our doctor also tested for H Pylori infection to rule that out as that can cause low absorption in the gut, my daughter was negative to that but at least it was ruled out.

We are having the P.A. test in 8 weeks time and the stomach has improved of late. Thanks for the advice.
