Hello - I am starting to self inject this week. I'm looking for a good instructional video that I can learn from - one that others have thought is good. Thanks.

Have you had injections of the same sort of b12 at the doctors?

Its advised to have the first one under supervision just incase of a reaction. .

Thay said I hope it goes well. I'm sorry no recommendations of videos.

Wedgwood or someone else will give you excellent advice.

Thanks - yes, I've been getting injections from GP every eight weeks - but I'd like to self inject every 8 weeks so I'm getting a monthly injection.

Good idea.Tou dont know until have a trial.

I self inject with my own bought b12 between my 2 weekly prescribed ones. I had 2 weekly for a year but still trying to function to get on with my life as best as possible.

I use the subcutaneous route at home .

I got my nurse to show me how to do it into my thigh.

I was there for my penultimate loading dose and I told here I was thinking of asking the doc if I could inject at home, to save me the hassle of having to go to the surgery and to save the nurse's time.

She was quite happy to demonstrate. Indeed, a few days later she brought a student along so that she could see how it was done.

It's worth a try.

I am following this as I would also like a video (I am self injecting monthly following a tutorial from the practice nurse, but find that I forget from month to month exactly how to do it, and practice nurse gave me short shrift when I asked for a reminder...☹️)

As Nackapan and fBirder have said it’s best if you can get the Nurse to show you, and if it’s the first one it is best to be supervised just in case of a reaction. I watched a lot of videos, some are really bad, so beware. The best ones, which, I learnt from and re-watch from time to time are on uTube and made by ‘B12 online’. The website is vitaminb12online.com/ . They seem to be in Australia, but their “about us” is not very informative. I think they are purely an online seller. I get my B12 from Versandapo in Germany. After watching the videos and still feeling a bit frightened, I asked one of the nurses at the surgery some further questions about some aspect which bothered me. Good Luck.
