You must persevere with injections and folic acid ( or folate-rich veg and fruit ) Healing depends on how long you have been deficient , and you don’t always know how long the deficiency was .

Yes I’m having to SI myself now as my Gp told me to take a tablet

It’s been hell im monitoring the folate levels via blood tests

And eating folate foods increased

I just take a daily 400mcg folic acid .Its the amount that’s recommended in pregnancy! It works together with B12 . Do not take 5mg of folic acid . It’s only ever used in extreme cases and then only for a short time.

There’s so many people on b12 and taking 5mg folic acid mostly on the face book groups

Yes we have heard about the Facebook groups , and we find them quite dangerous . I strongly advise you not to take 5 mg of folic acid , except for a short time . Please look up on google the dangers of overdosing on Vitamin B9 ( folic acid ) Methylfolate is fine to take , . .

Hi

I’ve googled this a lot and it’s saying safe as it’s water soluble ?

No , being water-soluble is no reason for folic acid not to be dangerous ! I have googled it also . Absolutely NOT recommended to exceed 1,000 mcg a day . ( 1mg) please believe me . It is true that B12 cannot be overdosed , but it’s NOT because it is water-soluble .

You should only take 5 mg of folic a day if a doctor prescribes it , and then only for a short time .

It’s really puzzling me

If b12 injections uses up your folate

I’ve heard you shouldn’t take folate it folic acid is b12 is low

But it’s confusing

As many others say you need to take both

B12 injectins and 5mg folic acid

Why are there such differences out there for this
