I feel body shamed

I am staring to feel down on myself and I am 28 years old. Well due to my precious anemia and autoimmune system I have gotten sick 2 times in the past two months. Not with COVID but with other colds. There is a new policy in place at work that says if you are sick you can’t be there. Most people don’t understand the severity of this cause if I get COVID I might die even after telling them again and again I have anemia and autoimmune system. An living in Florida doesn’t help any. People will not stay 6 ft away from me. Hell someone rammed me with there cart the other day. I know I shouldn’t feel bad but whenever I get sick and have to leave work for either dizziness due to my anemia or being sick. It is my fault I got sick so much though I do everything right to keep my body protected masks, taking a shower after working at a thrift shop, lysoling everything before I get in the house. It is like a new regiment. ( I will not get into the regiment unless asked). I tried to even look up famous people who had anemia’s and it still didn’t make me feel better. An one day I forgot to take my dizzy pills and I yelled out to my mother who scolded me for coming home early cause of my dizziness. “ I didn’t ask for this body” and it still keeps ringing in my ears. I feel bad that I have to take an afternoon nap, I feel bad that my staff doesn’t understand that I have to go to the bathroom so much. I feel bad that my muscles are weak. I feel bad cause I feel no matter how many times I tell my coworkers about my anemia they don’t truly understand the real struggle I am facing. An that though they are playing with me about me going to the bathroom and always having to take a break even though I am part time and I need to eat even though breaks are not mandatory. I just feel bad... I mean I really haven’t felt this ashamed of myself since I found out I had dyslexia... and that was when I was a child. ( An yes I seen my doctor about my dizziness and my bathroom issue, she gave me meds for the dizziness, nothing for the fatigue, and nothing for the bathroom problems) Could you guys please give me some advice on how I can feel better about my body while I cope with having anemia?

Have you b12 deficiency or Penicious anaemia?

If so are you getting the the right frequency of b12 injections.

You do sound down and very poorly.

Make a list of the worst symptoms that affect you and go to your doctor.

Perhaps counselling might be offered .

Certain things are available to help with coping with an ongoing chronic illness .

I hope you find a decent doctor that can help you.

Sorry that you are having such a difficult time.

There are a number of forums on HU that might be more useful to you in trying to work through the issues with anxiety and guilt, such as this one.

I notice that you are already a member of a PTSD forum.

You might find it useful to look into mindfulness practices. Here in the UK some of the mental health charities have moved more towards online support and it is probably the same in the US.

Sounds to me like you need more b12 injections and blood tests to see where your iron levels are As well as other investigations re the dizziness have these been done?

Are you in the UK?

It sounds like you have a lot of problems going on, have you told your GP how you’re feeling? It would be a good idea to ask to be seen by a counsellor could help with your PTSD. It’s difficult to think straight when you have health problems and PTSD.

It sounds like you also need a full health check.

Are you having b12 injections? If your PA is being treated you should not be at a higher risk from Covid 19.

I hope you get the help you need and can start to get better soon.
