Hi everyone

One of the signs I have noticed that I’m ready for a new dose is that my bottom thumb joints become very sensitive and sore (as in not exactly painful but ouchy) and they’re not as strong as they ought to be. Does this sound likely b12 related or am I imagining it?

Over the last year or so a b12 shot has improved them. Maybe it’s a placebo effect?

More recently the relief hadn’t been so long lasting and so I decided to load again. So I’ve had 6x1ml hydoxy over the last 2 weeks.

Thumbs seem the same or perhaps even a bit worse.

So my question is - is this the worse before it’s better thing or is the thumb thing nothing to do with b12?

The other ‘sign’ is a bit of tinnitus and that hasn’t shifted either.

Otherwise feel pretty good, so it’s not world ending, but I can’t decide whether or not to keep loading to see if it helps or not. Anyone else got sore thumb joints? There’s no tingling like I had before treatment. Or the other nasty symptoms thankfully.

Maybe it’s lockdown induced gout? 😂

It does seem to be trudk and error.

I try not to put everything down to b12 . My body ached at certain times or after exercise before.

I was even pleased ti get a familiar pain the other week. Thars has not happened five long time.

All I would say is try for a while then reduce if not helping.

I'm still trying to get a frequency that will get me to my new best.

Did your thumbs hurt at the beginning ?

Can get better before worse though.

Hope you sort it

Sounds like you doing well

I'd go for column B.

The 'getting worse before better' thing happens when you first start treatment. That's when nerve repair starts happening. Your thumb doesn't sound like nerve damage, but joint damage. Indeed, it does sound like gout.

What does your doctor say?

Doctor already thinks I’m bonkers so I am not asking him about my thumbs unless they look like they’re gonna drop off!

I’ve been getting 1 sore thumb the last couple of months, exactly as you describe and have just gone from weekly to every other day and it’s getting better. I was clueless as to what caused it and just assumed I’d bent it back or something.

Thank you!!! Mine started with one and now they’re both at it. I think I’ll keep adding the b12, after all, it can’t do any harm. Hope yours gets better soon!

Mine is near enough gone now! I’m glad it was just the one!

Hi, I don't know specifically about thumbs, but when my B12 deficiency was adequately treated, as a bonus, I noticed that carpal tunnel and arthritic type pains in my knees and ankles disappeared.

More recently plantar fasciitis pains in the soles of my feet have resolved too !

Wasn't expecting or even hoping B12 to have these effects, so don't feel it is a only a placebo.

Hope you have good results too x
