Bloods back.

Ferritin is 57. Taken over a year .At least o know any shaking and other symptoms are not low iron as Hb good too.

I'm sticking to every other day ferrous fumerate 210mg and Spartane

Bad news is cholesterol gone up again.

I think will only improve when I can exercise more I.e walk further or one day get on my bike!

On more frequent I jections getting old symptoms revisiting.

Trying to read my blood results in section s. made me shake and then stagger walk and head sizzle.

Has anyone else had this doing more b12 injections? I've also had more headaches but not nasty migrain but enough ti stop me moving about. ??Before this terrible weakness si cant stand for long or ave ant confidence in finishing say making lunch.

Folate wasn't done. Did see it on the blood form?

Good news!

Sorry about the cholesterol though …. mine is always going up and down. Not sure of the reason but my GP is not worried about it. I have resisted taking statins.

Hoping the other results are satisfactory.

I'm not taking statins and not been suggested.

The ratio was just in upper limit. 6.75 was total though!! It has been on the high side for years 5.8 is the lowest. Yes everything else seemed okay thanks pity folate missed. Ivd not had a proper look as difficulty looking at it today

I will eat a little less meat I think now and watch the fats.

I think the main problem is lack of exercise though. Vicious circle.

Hope you doing okay.

Good morning Nackapan.my cholesterol is also high but apparently this is common in post meno women and I’ve had a few heavy discussions with my gp over my refusal to take statins, they don’t even bother to look at my records and see I was on them 15 years ago and the side effects were horrendous so I had to stop. My ratio was fine so I don’t not consider myself at risk and it ticks me off that they’ve not shown the same level of interest in any of my other health issues.always hidden agendas with these gps it’s rare to find a truly humane one these days.

I hope the better weather brings you a bit of respite from these symptoms you’ve not had it easy this last wee while.take care x

Yes it seems the ratio is the important part. I'm reducing meat ad I dont seem to absorb the iron and b12!! So smaller portions will work the same. I was eating more liver in the hope.

I think it's down to exercise I cant do yet. I used to be on my bike and race around. Cleaned for my mum and daughter shopped for then as well as doing my own stuff.

Yes still struggling but carrying on with extra Injections 5 -7 days.

We had a garden visit from our daughters (grown ups) No cooking no making lots of cups of tea. No hugs 😔. Lots of talking

Something odd happened. I had an early 'proper' lunch as per usual ad so food dependant. I was doing okay just sat in the garden.

Then I went very white thought i needed food. I had toast with an egg on. It sat like lead . My body was just shutting down. Tight skull. Simply could not digest. (Har taken painkillers as talking can hurt) Reflux (never had before ) Horrible. I imagine a result of fatigue and talking ???

More pacing ??

Didnt upset me made me angry really as I'd done nothing to save energy. Pleased my ferritin levels up at last. So a shock.

Not been put to the test for some time as last saw them in February.

The more frequent Injections are giving me ' old' symptoms but not as bad . Going round in circles

Did an injection the following morning after a rough night as could lay down for hours.

Didnt take an iron or other vitamins to give my body a break. (Digrstion)

Heady but not headache. Settled at 1900hrs . Turned my phone off . Pulled the curtains. Burnt lavender. 2 of my cats Sat with me.

Had the first proper sleep in months and months . Still woke at 4 but that is all!!! And went back to sleep until 6...amazing . Also not that awful sudden have to go to sleep like you've been drugged feeling.

So a pleasant change .

I'm amazed at the varying symptoms and no pattern after 18m.

I think the more regular Injections will help .🤞

It's so hard isnt it. I remember when you were picking up and it gives you a glint of getting somewhere only to go back again.

Snakes and ladders with little understanding.

I hope you are going up a 'ladder' again.

Sorry for the essay.

Thank you for kind words.

59 this week . Perhaps it will be the fab sixties??🤣

Take care

How lovely for you to have family over but it’s probably drained you they can have that effect lol.all that head pain sounds like tension headaches to me I used to get them as soon as my daughter came near me she’s so volatile was always on edge waiting on the rowing to start.Lockdown had its benefits lol.

Wish I was 59 again lol but have a lovely day when it comes and you can treat yourself now can’t you,I did this week bought some nice wee cheapy tops from marks for the expected sunshine, ive fairly caught the colour this year I usually fry so I’m pleased to be back to normal, for three years running I burnt so badly I wasn’t used to that I lived in Spain and always took a great colour.

Tomorrow I have my blood tests 47 tests panel being done and I’ve decided to have the intrinsic factor test done too I’ve paid for it all anyway,I’m waiting n my results for 24 hour urine cortisol tests coming back n this next week.a doctor friend looked at my previous saliva test I’d had done and told me I had Addison’s disease ,that shocked me but he also said to keep on the b12 injections every other day just now as That could kick start the adrenals again so when this cortisol test comes back it’ll be really interested to see if he was right.

I do hope you improve it’s such a long lonely battle isn’t it but keep plodding away you’ll conquer it at some stage, take care x

Thanks. Not able to tolerate lights in shops so no joy there

Put on a big hat and glasses for food shop.

Glad you got out.

I used to love a wander around the shops

Yes been there with a volatile daughter. All calmer now lol

Do keep us posted on your results.

Yes might as well have the intrinsic factor test done.

I've made myself ill fasting for bloods and it's made a fraction of a difference with results so no more.

They thought one of my daughters had Addisons. She didnt.

That's interesting the b12 coukd kick start adrenal function.

I suppose like raising ferritin can help thyroid function.

Yes I was told variant migraines initially which they were by a neurologist goes with noise and light sensitivity. The last neurologist says ongoing chronic tension headaches . Involuntary nuchal muscles continually contracting. No quick fix!!

Nothing like a tension headache I've had before ill. My whole head and skull and neck lock.

I'd never had migraines before. Very different. Both painful bit migraines end after s few days with a hung over sort of feeling.

These ongoing .

Hooe tour bloods give more answers . Sound really thorough.

in reply to Nackapan

I do feel for you it must be so hard to get through the day when you feel like that but your strong and you know there’s an answer out there waiting on you to crack it,you will at some stage so keep plodding away.x

I’m getting jumpy tonight about these blood tests I’m always the same I hate having it done I swear I can feel the metal of the needle in my vein it’s a horrible feeling, prob in my head but feels so real to me .already I’m flapping about times I could only get 4pm or it was another months wait and I was worried about a lockdown situation again so took it now I’m worried about the posting of the samples as they’ll prob have to sit in the postbox Over night.

in reply to

Now I’m replying to myself lol see you can tell I’m stressy tonight lol.

Yes I think its worse hanging around for afternoon appointments.

Mine were dine last Wednesday.

HCA who was really good has left.

That threw me.

I left s Self addressed envelope with a stamp on and coukdnt believe it when they arrived in the post on Saturday!!

I thi k theres always an expectation of something hopefully not too wrong but something to work with. In the warm weather I think it's an easier job for them.

Think about something nice as they do it and it will be over. I always have a treat thing to eat and water after.

Nackapan in reply to

Yes I will. I dont want much. Just to cycle to town and have a wander.

Or watch tv for a bit so I can actually relax.

To read a book would be good.

To have a break from a hissing sore head .

To he able to have a light on .

To be able to make up one morning without my head hurting.

Quite a list really but I dint think greedy.

in reply to Nackapan

Have you ever tried an air purifier in your bedroom at night or an ioniser at side of your bed I use an air purifier because of my cats in the lounge and in the bedroom although there’s only one of them manages to sneak into the bedroom and I chase her straight out lol.and it really helps make the rooms feel fresh and keeps my head clear.we just have to try so many things to make life tolerable don’t we.

I’ve been off my b12 injections for 5 days now so I can get this I.F test done along with the others today, this time I’ve not been so bad off them its been the dizziness that’s been the worst but tonight after these blood tests I’m straight back to my b12 injection.enjoy your day looks like another hot one.x

Nackapan profile image
Nackapan in reply to

Yes too hot for me.

I don't have an air purifier. Will have a look online. I do however have 2 oil burners with t lights (keeps the flies out. ) Also an electric essential oil burner puffing out lavender. When I was very ill with headaches every day I also had essential oils on a hankie and did all sorts of different breathing for the pain.

I'm used to cats everywhere lol.

I used to shut them downstairs at night.

It all went to pot when I was ill as I like them with me or just around. They had a rota I'm sure .

Mabel the one that was with me the most reeked of lavender!!

She still herds me upstairs I'd she thinks I should be on the bed .

Quite Incredible. Shes a loner even separate from rest of her litter. No one bought her. A woman at work came round asking if anyone would take her. She came full of fleas never have I seen so many. Bath job.

Helped the young mother (owner of kittens ) sort her house !! All too much with small children.

Not a lap cat . She sleeps on a chair beside me .First time she sat on my lap was the night before I collapsed. !

Two of them dont know me any different .

One is 17 now . Never had a cat so long. Still head of the cats though.

I'm trying ring out wet sheet in the window as supposed to cool any air. I imagine it will dry out quickly bit worth a try.

Good you can have the IFA test.

Ice not had it. They fir some readin did the parietal cell antybody test at the start.

So are you injecting 2 or 3 times a week still?

I did that at the beginning from Nov to April. Unfortunately there was a 5 week gap taking tablets sublinguals ect as I was supposed to wait 3 months.

Hooe you continue to make progress

Let us know your results!!

in reply to Nackapan

I love my cats dearly they’re so dependable the youngest never leaves my side except at bedtime she knows when it’s lights out it’s time for her own bed, they give me something to get up for in the mornings even if it’s a 6am wake up call lol, sometimes it’ll be 4 am with the youngest no wonder my cortisol is so bad.

I couldn’t burn the oils like that my head would pound if I was you I’d stop them and try a small air purifier or a de humidifier it will so clear your head and circulate fresh air for you.worth a try? Could you not borrow one to try for a week ?

Nackapan profile image
Nackapan in reply to

Okay thanks.

The essential oils do work for me.

Oh yes an early start this time of year with cats.

Only the old one really demands food too early .not every morning.

They get fed 0630 anyhow. 2 prefer it later lol.

in reply to Nackapan

I can’t even burn a candle Nackapan I’m probably over sensitive to everything even if I have a massage (very rarely) I ask them not to burn or use essential oils.,but if they help you then that’s great,it’s an individual thing like everything in life.

My gang are all asleep now so I enjoy the peace and quiet at this time lol.

Nackapan profile image
Nackapan in reply to

Yes.How many is the gang?

Not much more time to kill before you go lol

in reply to Nackapan

Four lol

I’m trying to keep my fluids up we really struggle to get a cooperative vein and If they don’t get it first time I’m done I won’t let them retry ,by that time I’m usually ready to leg it out the door lol.

As soon as I get home I’ll have dinner then inject the b12 I’m so dizzy and aching everywhere but stress doesent help I understand that.enjoy your day at least the bonus is we get our vit d topped up for free eh lol.x

Have something sweet with water or fizz. It hydrates better and for longer.

B12 deficiency wreaked havoc in my balance and walking! I could barely walk a straight line - it felt like I was drunk and dragging my feet!

Nackapan profile image
Nackapan in reply to HopetoB12better

I had virtigo then like you couldnt walk .

Can now.

B12 definitely helped that .

I can get off balance days . Last time just before injection was due.

Still csnt mice quickly or turn to talk. Have to move whole body.
