Your B12 results are fine and are in the normal range. Is there any reason why you think you have PA?

Hi.
Are you symptomatic for B12 deficiency?

If you have symptoms consistent with b12 deficiency plus a family history of PA then I would hope your GP would test you for PA.
If you suspect PA, I recommend joining PAS who can offer support and info.

There are many possible causes of B12 deficiency besides PA eg diet, Coeliac disease, H pylori infection, fish tapeworm infection, Crohn's disease plus others.

From personal experience I know it is possible to have severe B12 deficiency with an in range serum B12 result.
I am not medically trained.

Your B12 is in the normal range, but it is still low. I would suggest bumping it up if you can. It won't hurt you to do that.
I'm not a doctor.

Thanks. I bumped it up to 999 3 years ago but I didn't feel any better with fatigue memory issues and dizziness and double vision and headaches.

If you got your B12 levels up that high with tablets then it means you do not have PA. It's also extremely unlikely that your symptoms are caused by a B12 deficiency.

It is possible to have normal range or even high levels of B12 in the blood and still have symptoms of B12 deficiency.
Some people can have Functional B12 Deficiency, where there is plenty of B12 in the blood but it's not getting to where it's needed in the cells.
