MMA Testing Protocol Advice

Hell all, this is my first time posting. For years, prior to taking B12 supplements and despite deficiency symptoms (tingling limbs and extremities, malnourished, lethargic, pale, skinny fat), I have had over the range Folate and Vit B12 bloodwork levels.

I ordered a MMA urine test for myself. I was wondering if I need to be off supplementing and stop taking B12 or other vitamins for a week? Also, do I need to be fasting the on the day of my testing?

I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Stopping B12 for a week will make no difference. It needs to be several months. But if you want to show that the B12 in your blood isn't getting into your cells then you want to carry in supplementing.

The MMA urine test is either a 24 hour collection (much more accurate) or a first thing in the morning single sample - which should be taken after fasting overnight.

Yes I want to show my cells are not absorbing it. Thank you!
