Hi, I was diagnosed with b12 deficiency at the end of September and finished my 6 loading doses of injections a week ago. My dad had PA and so do my sister and niece and they said that after I got my injections it would be like I had a new lease of life. However I’m still tired all the time, no matter how well I sleep, and could easily come home from work and go to bed! My question is how long does it take for the injections to take effect? I have a fairly sedentary job, although it is extremely busy.
Thanks for any advice

My last injection (been on them a year) I finally got a taste of what people meant. 2 days after I felt energised almost over excited as wanted to do stuff. Only boring things like cleaning and other jobs. I akso couldn't sleep the night of the injection. Buzzing.
I then crashed. Probsbly 'overdid it'
So for me has taken a long time to get what others have had and doctors have described. Si i hope it happens sooner for you. If you getting to work I tnink you doing well. Just more time needed.
Has your thyroid been tested? That could explain your symptoms, if not. Hypothyroidism often goes with B12 deficiency. In our house 3 people have that combo, along with diabetes (fixed by diet) and Chrojns disease. To rule out thyroid problems have your T3 tested by a doctor with awareness who will do it near your location. Maybe ask someone here to privately message you a decent doctor near your location.
Yes everyone who is displaying those symptoms should be checked for thyroid iron celiac as well as providing at same time as b12 vit D folate . Ferritin ect
I see I have again mis-spelled "crohn's disease". I just cannot get it right without looking it up. It's really "John" with "cr" instead of "J". I've had have similar problems with 'bureaucracy' and 'bachelor' since childhood. You can all be sure I will get Chrohn's disease wrong again the next time I try to write it.
Everyone is quite different and there are a lot of other factors that can cause the overwhelming fatigue. I've been injecting for about 4 months now and have seen a very slow improvement but at least it is improvement. Agreed, a thyroid check, iron, etc. would be wise.
Be patient and hang in there! I'm sure it's different for everyone. After 18 months of treatment, if I didn't set my alarm I might not wake up until noon. Now it's been two years and I feel almost normal and I do fine with just 8 hours of sleep. But I do still have an occasional day that I stay in bed all day.
