b12 and pain?

I can just about manage between two-weekly injections of B12, but since I tore a tendon and have been in a lot of pain, I find I am sinking after one week. Can the body 'use up' b12 more quickly if there are other things (pain) to deal with? Grateful, as ever, for your comments.

Yes , I also find that stress , be it physical or mental , seems to result in the need for extra B12 . Best give yourself an extra injection in anticipation of any stress , when it’s possible . There is no danger of overdosing , so why not ? Best wishes . P.S. I’m assuming that you self-inject as you mention 2 weekly injections .

oh thank you both - very helpful and supportive. I think I have to grit my teeth and self med between the two-weekly shot I am given.

I had my extra one at the surgery as the prescription says when needed. Yours may be the same as not on the usual regime???

oh goodness me with my surgery I would dare have a 'when needed' on prescription - they would see that as a mandate for them to give me b12 once a year!!!

Well as stress is one of the reasons it can deplete in the first place I think pain will definitely use it up more quickly for your body to cope. I'm on 2 weekly and had one after one week as i was actually going on a short drive being driven ti get ti an appointment. I'm gkad I did as I still got the rnevitabke hearache and head pain but could have been worse I think . So if you csn have an extra injection.

Yes, definitely - as B12 and supporting supplements are used in cell repair, nerve function and energy release they will be in higher demand to repair the damage to the tear as well as from the rest of your body to cope with it all.

With vitamins and minerals, if you need them, you need them!

So you began SI every day and now 3.5 years later you are improving? I just wondered as I have been SI 3 times a week for 2 months now and if anything I am slightly worse so wasn't sure whether to continue or not.

Not what you're looking for?
