A new label

. Saw GP. She mentioned cranial nerves. All medics have just looked blank when I describe my symptoms I'm left with. I reread the last neurologist letter. Did some go ogling. Variant migrain with static allodynia describe exactly what I have. The feeling of tightness and pain from glasses. The scalp sensitivity. The problems getting my head in a comfortable position to sleep ect. So basically have a permanent headache with peaks or days of pain. Treatments of course are limited to antidepressants beta blockers ect . Anyhow seeing the symptime written diet sone how helps. B12 hydroxocobalamin due tomorrow so that should help. As I've had a 2 week gap it should be clear how I react. I will then up them again if needed. Only out of Saturdays horrible migrain today. Still on painkillers though. Anyway a new label that might help others feel they are not going mad.

Do you also have jaw pain? I have had PA diagnosed for c10 years and recently had jaw pain. I went to dentist thinking I had an abcess and dentist said there was nothing wrong. I then had antibiotics that did not help the pain at all. The pain went across jaw line and my gp suspected trigemial neuralgia and prescribed a drug usually used for epilepsy. This drug made me feel awful as dosage was increased but it did stop the pain..however few days after taking it I had awful pain across front of scalp, it was so bad I thought i was having a s stroke or aneurism. MRI of neck, head and jaw show no abnormalities other than prob at top of spine that can prob be dealt with by osteopath I hope. . Hosp say come off drugs as they say it is muscular but my dentist says that is nonsense and it is neurological. All I know is that having decreased tegretol to 200mg a day pain in my jaw is back again. Whether this is related to pernicious anaemia, I have no idea. Has anyone else had similar issues?

That sounds horrible. I've had various pains and burning and vibrations in my mouth jaw and scalp. especially after 4 pm and when extremely noise sensitive. I have a tightening of forehead and or around ears . Used to be whole scalp so that has improved

The label I posted does describe what you have. I think (donthe know) that it's the brain giving wrang messages. I've been told all part of migrain?? The glasses clamped to my head feeling I've had all along but the other ones changing. Used to be uo my nose and across face. Typing this gives me a burning g patch on top of my head and sizzling noises? ? Musthe be cranial nerves . Theread must be a connection to PA as the defiency can cause nerve damage. This is all new to me since defiency. All I've been told is drugs like anti seizure, antidepressants ect are used off licience for nerve pain. I really thought there would be better treatment

P.s my husband called 111 as I thought the same as you that something was going very wrong . Once they'd ruled out the stroke by questions I was given no more attention . I tried amitriptyline but that didn't suit me so csme off it with horrible withdrawal symptoms. Told very sensitive to have so much trouble! I know it helps some and they have no trouble getting off a low dose. I hope ithat all calms down for you. T C

I have had neuralgia in the Trigeminal nerve on and off over the years and previously attributed it to Herpes virus activation and used to up my dose of anti-virals. But a couple of months ago I got bad neuralgia in the Occipital nerve - I was in bed for about 2 weeks with it - the longest attack I've had. I have been wondering if they were actually sign of B12 deficiency will be interested to see if the B12 injection I have now started improves/stops these attacks, the migraines, or my ability to fight of herpes. (Herpes and Shingles live in the nerves and it is the nerves that B12 deficiency damages.) Also watch out for any eye pain. If it is structural then some kind of body treatment might help.
