I've been self-injecting for a few years and it's make a massive difference.

I buy my B12 from Germany, 100 ampoules at a time - versandapo.de/vitamin-b12-d... and my needles and syringes from Medisave.

Dear fbirder, when you order from Germany do you order in English? I have read you can translate to English can you send me the details for this.

I have just recently started si and get my ampoules and needles in Spain, it would be more convenient to buy by the 100 ampoules, I am so glad I use this site as all the information and advice that is posted is so relevant and has helped me so much, although early days for me si and still feel really ill at present I will continue with si until I feel an improvement in my health, Thanks so much for all you have posted

I can understand a little German, but to make sure I don't make mistakes I use the Chrome browser, which has automatic translation built-in.

It can take a while to find the right frequency of injection. Try keeping a diary of some of your symptoms to see how they vary with the injections.

Hi, don't forget to buy a cheap ampule cutter on ebay, it's one of the best tips I got on here and saves your fingers!

Yes having injections and self injecting has made a huge difference. Was a strange thing to do at first and I was very nervous. Feel very comfortable now and difference has genuinely been life changing for me. Best of luck

Likewise - self inject twice a week for about 18 months (thanks to this site) feel almost « normal » if a keep si regime going . Ampules and needles from versandapo

I've been SI every other day since Xmas. I left it for a few days & some symptoms started returning, so back to every other day currently & feel better again.

It is daunting at first as nobody wants to stick a needle in them but it beats the alternative.

I mirror what everyone else has said, i.e needles etc from Medisave in UK & my last 100 ampoules last month came from another German online pharmacy called Bodfied apothke, €5.90 for 10 & I think €9 no matter what you order & were with me within a week.

When I've ordered from other places I had to use the "Google translate" App which I downloaded onto my phone. But through Bodfeld apothke, it translates it to English for you. If I remember right, you choose your language on their website.

Good luck

Our surgery nurse asked me if I fancied self injecting at the fourth top-up. She talked me through that on, then for the fifth I did everything under her direction and finally for the sixth one I did that whole thing with her just watching.

I will admit to being a little apprehensive 3 months later when doing the first one 'home alone' but after a pause to collect myself when my needle hand was shaking it was no problem.

I did manage to shatter one of the ampoules and that was 3 years ago and I haven't shattered another since.

The surgery wouldn't condone more frequent injections to deal with the neuropathy symptoms so after using the spares I had to prove to myself they worked I got a supply from Germany. They were actually bought by a bio-chemist for me which was reassuring and I have just reordered my next batch of 100 myself. (A No Deal precaution.)

I agree with you beginner1, now, but at the time the prospect was there for the cliff edge to come very close. I don't think tariffs are necessarily what will be the problem, if there is one, because the major factor is that in Germany, as in Spain I understand, the elixir we are after is freely available from pharmacies without Doctor's prescription but as it is an injection solution all such drug's supply is subject to prescription here in the UK. It is the Medical Profession which have the control of the supply, by law. Because we are still in the EU then the fact it is readily available in some of the 28 countries then it is that which applies to anywhere else. If we aren't in the EU then it is subject to UK law and only available on Doctor's Prescription so HMRC could well take to seizing shipments, or the Germans would be within their rights to refuse to supply to us.

Tariffs could be another matter especially if there is a UK manufacturer of this substance though at 60p an ampoule it wouldn't be exactly expensive with a 100% tariff.

At the way the situation is I would rather have a two year plus supply available than just a few months.

Might be reassuring to do so. The process of SI is reasonably straight forward and there are lots of good guides etc. However it is nerve racking first time (for me at least) so may help with confidence to have a health professional do this. I presume it varies where abouts in the country you are for how much a private doctor will charge but could be worth cost if one off

That’s brilliant- I’ve also been lucky in the past. Private rather than nhs tho.
