Too much iron?

Hi, Got test results back and my Folate is right at the top end, which is good? But, my Ferritin (iron store) is right at the bottom end.

I must explain that I have stated this problem via health unlocked, but not directly to PAS.

I was told that I do not anymore iron, which I agree with, but is there anything at all I can do to higher my folate levels?

I also have B12 injection x 8 wks by GP. However,I was self administering my own b12 once per wk, but due to severe depression I stopped. Could this too have an effect on Low ferritin?

Regards

Hi Booblet.

Having or not having B12 injections will not affect your ferritin levels.

If your folate is right at the top end of the reference range, you do not need to raise it further. Just wondering why you think you need to?

You say that your ferritin level is right at the bottom of the reference range but that you’ve been told you don't need any iron (which you agree with), then say you want to get your ferritin levels up (which would involve telling iron). So quite confused about what you’re asking here?

Not really sure what you mean when you say that you have started your health problems via Health Unlocked?

Not what you're looking for?
