Been taking folic acid for three weeks. Palpitations, headaches and nausea have stopped. However still breathless and fatigued. How long until I feel back to normal?

low folate can lead to macrocytic anaemia - in which your red blood cells are larger and rounder than normal. If this was the case then it will take a few months to clear.

Thank you. The loss of balance is worrying me the most, from what I've read this can indicate low b12. My b12 level was 238, although at the lower end of the scale the Dr didn't seem to worry about it.

the symptoms of folate and B12 deficiency overlap as they are used together for a lot of processes that go on in your cells. If your diet is rich in folate then you could have a folate absorption problem which can also affect absorption of B12.

Try to see if your doctor is agreeable to monitoring B12 levels to see if they are dropping.
