Wondering if anyone has had any rib pain or achiness. I have occasional twinges of left rib pain that come and go. Looking back this was the very first thing I noticed in this journey before I even knew I had PA. Just curious if this is just part of the symptoms and whole process and I need to be patient with this hopefully improving with continued injections. I have heard that generally the first symptoms to come are the last to leave, so this was my very first symptom.

Rib pain symptom?
Hi, shaylynn,
Like you, I had that as a symptom (and a host of others) before my b12 injections began. It wasn't an intense pain but, rather, a dull pain that would remind you that it was there.
It was located in the lower-left and front of my abdomen/ribcage.
Never had a definitive answer for it, but my doctor did mention that it could be from an enlarged spleen due to B12 deficiency.
It did go away, but for whatever reason, hints its soreness if I go too long without an injection.
Yes you described it perfectly. Thanks for your input. Good to know it went away. I’m only 5 weeks into injections. Almost all my symptoms are gone. Just got this rib cage pain occasionally and headaches 😕
You're welcome!
Our bodies are so different from each other yet can have familiar "happenings." I only began injections a couple of months ago and yet I see many positive changes and some that have a little more work.
Glad to hear that your body is responding and you're feeling better!
I thought I was going mad. Yes on the right side and central upper abdoman
Phew! I have pain on both sides of my ribs occasionally, it just feels like someone is pinching me from the inside. My tests came back to say K don't have PA but still a b12 defeciency. So having 3 monthly injections for a year. Anyone else seem to have excessive gas? 😳
I’ve had this in both ribs and had CT and MRCP scans all clear. I’ve been given amitriptyline and referred to Neurologist. I have had diagnosis of PA since April and self inject weekly. Don’t assume it will go with more injections. It isn’t the answer to every pain and twinge - sometimes other things are going on. I’ve been injecting every day for the last week and it’s made little difference. Good luck.
Thanks for your input! Just wondering if it is a b12 thing or not.
"It isn’t the answer to every pain and twinge."
Well said, and I want to apologies for my initial post.
The last thing I want to do is to try and diagnose someone., and it probably came across that way.
As much as I've studied and researched b12 and deficiency (10+ years), that still doesn't qualify me to say to anyone that your problem is related to a b12 deficiency of some sort.
I'm certainly not a doctor, and as we all know too well, many, if not most doctors have a long way to go not only in coming up with a proper diagnosis, but treating it properly.
There's so much about the human body that no-one yet knows. And we're still learning about the affects of low b12, how the body fully depends on it, and how far reaching the consequences are of being deficient.
No, b12 is certainly not a cure-all.
I get it on lower left hand side of ribs, particularly notice it if I've gone too long between injections - just like Elijah said.
I injected two weeks ago but still there (worse when I slouch at my desk) so I've self referred for a chest x-ray - just to discount that (hopefully)
I have been getting it a long time.......and I've been smoking for 35 years.......and I forced my girlfriend to have one 2 years ago.....
might not be the best option for everyone, but it was time for me
