gut punched every morning

anyone else feel like they've been punched in the gut every morning? I wake up feeling extreme anxiety and depression, then it passes in an hour or so. Possibly cortisol issues? Is there a link between cortisol levels and b12 deficiency?

Hello. I usually wake hoping to feel different. Yes the dissapointed causes anxiety the moment I try and walk. I have had for the last few days stomachine ache a mixture of the dissapointed and I'm hoping stomach juices working better?? I also then think of what has passed hopefully nothis to return and try and get positive again .

As for the cortisol I don't know I'm afraid.

Hope you more settled now.

Hi

The only real way you can tell if you have a cortisol issue( if you feel anxious is , from personal experience, more likely to be higher than average) is by monitoring your temperature with a basal thermometer.

See drmyhill.co.uk and in the search bar on the home page type in orchestra. It’s the best article I know on improving your health. It covers diet vitamins, absorption, adrenals and thyroid issues lastly.

Alternatively you could consider a saliva cortisol and dhea test. ( 4 cortisol tests over the day). It can be done by yourself through Regenerus or Genova if you have a Doctor to authorise it. Alternatively it can be done via thyroid uk but obviously they’ll have access to your details.

On the same link I gave you you can type in adrenals and pick the adrenal gearbox. That too is really helpful.

Either way I hope you manage to feel better soon.

I find I do if I've run out of vitamins and minerals overnight. Because I go to bed early and have long nights I was finding everything had run out by the morning and I felt really down. Having had my jab, food and supplements I would gradually pick up and feel fine/happy enough.

Earlier this year (during a worse for me spell) I had the opportunity to do the nighttime (sometime between midnight and 4am) calving checks every night for a couple of months on a herd of cows I've worked with for many years.

I found that I had to take extra supplements when I woke up to get myself working well enough to drive to the farm, cope with the cows, calves, etc.

The upshot of it was that regardless of the broken sleep, extra activity, etc, I actually felt better doing it than not!

Subsequent trials suggest that I was just getting too low on nutrients by the morning and now when I wake up in the night I top myself up with at least a multivitamin and mineral supplement (it's easier than eating a balanced meal) and quite often a nutritious sandwich. If I do I'm then fine in the mornings!

Might be worth a try!
