Hello, can anyone elaborate on the significance of a low TIBC of 42.6 (range 47-80) in relation to PA, and what can be done to remedy? TIA

It helps to view test results in a larger picture. A TIBC result all by itself doesn't indicate something specific.
This chart gives an idea of the typical test results for a few different types of anemia. Notice that multiple test results are necessary to establish what type anemia is involved: irondisorders.org/Websites/...
I'm just speculating as to why the TIBC might go down in PA (you'll notice from the chart that it doesn't always go down in people with B12 deficiency). My thoughts are that the damage done to the cells lining the stomach cause inflammation which triggers anemia of chronic disease. At least, that seems to be what happened in my case.
Thanks Galixie.
My other results for iron profile are:
Iron: 15.1 (7-27)
% Iron Saturation: 36 (14-50)
TIBC: 42.6 (47-80)
All other bloods are normal except MCV and MPV are high but right at upper cut off and thus technically in range. Probably the low TIBC is due to the inflammation of gastric mucosa as you suggest, as a marker of chronic disease. Thank you.
