High B12/Folate, Twitching, Tingling, Tinnitus

Hi all,

Recently had bloods done as I have symptoms that suggest B12 deficiency (the frequent, random, all-over muscle twitching is particularly annoying/worrisome).

B12: 924 pg/mL

Folate: 21.1 ng/mL

I had 4 once-weekly B12 + B-complex injections back in June, and the twitching started around then. (I had also begun a low carb diet around the same time, but after the twitching started I resumed carb-eating.) If it's a MTHFR issue, I'm not sure what else I would do to support other than keep taking supplements.

Any advice? Why are my levels so high, and my symptoms worsening? Will also be getting an MRI soon.

Any thoughts?

the B12 result doesn't really mean a lot after a B12 shot- after the shot it will be astronomic and then just fall over time.

Many people need B12 levels to be much higher and need B12 injections much more frequently than once a month to keep the symptoms at bay.

What supplements are you taking?

Did the injections/do the supplements contain B6? You can overdose on B6 and the symptoms you describe are consistent with B6 toxicity

MTHFR unlikely to be a real factor.
