Hi - B12 advice please!

Hi, hope you’re all well. Don’t want to ramble so I’ll try get this short. Started to feel really unwell at the end of July a headache that wouldn’t shift, then numbness tingling, weak muscles, fatigue, disturbed eye vision that I can’t really explain.(got my eyes test twice) all is well. Had to start cutting my hours down at work because I was becoming dizzy and out of breath, the more I done the more it would floor me. Especially in the following days. Just seemed to have no energy and completely run down. Kept getting mouth ulcers. Also really bad heart palpitations which made me think I was having a heart attack, been to the doctors over 10 times a&e 4 times. They done blood tests CBC, blood sugar, liver and kidneys, all was good bit dehydrated. So put down to anxiety. Symptoms got worse and I stared getting really depressed sick of not knowing what was going on! Finally got a decent DR who decided to test my B12 I had levels of 154. Is it possible to have all these symptoms with levels that low? I start my shots on Tuesday and cannot wait to feel like me again!! Thanks for reading guys xx

Glad to hear that you are starting treatment Shannonf247.Yes it is possible to have those symptoms with B12 levels of 154. Also up to 80% of that B12 can be inactive ! I had levels of 150 when I managed to get diagnosed , but I had different symptoms to you . There must be at least 20 different symptoms , and we end up with a small selection of random nasties . I had confusion , giddyness , heart -racing and totally numb feet .. Glad to say that the symptoms are gone , except that the feet now burn like hell , and feel as though I’m wearing shoes that are a couple of sizes too small . I expect your doctor will tell you to supplement with folic acid , (vitamin B9 ) with which B12 works . Do hope that you start to feel better very quickly . Best wishes .

Thanks for your reply! @wedgewood

There’s probably a host of symptoms I’ve forgotten to mention as it’s been going on for so long! I didn’t even know about the inactive stuff. I got a b12 serum test I’m sure. I got numbness, usually in the face sometimes. Also heavy legs! I get giddy too! I should didn’t think my levels were low enough to cause symptoms! Thanks best wishes
