Hi Members hope you are all well,

Been a while since i posted, i have B12 jabs now once a week ish, i have started getting server fatigue again, depression, anxiety foggy brain, severe diarrhoea aching joints chest pains (which have been investigated) reflux swollen sore tongue. I have my bloods done while in hospital for the chest pain, one of the results came back enlarged red blood cells every thing else was fine, i was told it was due to the B12 so stopped regular 3 x a week jabs, will it be ok to continue with my jabs as i feel rubbish all the time again its been 3 weeks since i reduced them.

Thanks as always for the advice, missed you guys xx

Enlarged red blood cells is a symptom of low B12. It’s not going to be caused by high B12. So start your injections again.

The other common cause of large red cells Is low folate. Have you had that tested?

I had full blood work up done while at hospital don't know if they did my folic it was tested last year around November ish it was low but was told not to take folic acid I do have some and take one a month as I know it can be harmful if you take it when you don't need it I mentioned this to my GP and he said it's because of your B12 jabs and left it at that I think I should go back to see them find out what's what thanks for your comment and advice really appreciate it

In the UK the NHS recommend everybody takes 200 mcg a day and women who may possibly become pregnant should take 400 ug.

Wonder why we don't see daily folic acid tabs by the biscuits, nuts, sweets, etc. at the tills in our supermarkets?

Some if not all of the symptoms you describe are ones I have or had. They were caused by SIBO (bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine). The bacteria get into your bloodstream after permeating your intestinal wall. It then becomes systemic and affects you in the way you describe. You can get a test for SIBO and/or overgrowth ( and make sure they use lactulose and not glucose). A urine test will also identify if you have a fungal overgrowth. You need to see a functional medicine expert or naturopath to help you get rid of it. I’m on the journey. It’s slow but it does work. Might be worth investigating if only to rule out.
