Pernicious anemia

Hey everyone. I'm new, first post. Kind of scared of all of this, I'm only 18 but my grandpa had PA and now I have it. It's been hell. People wanting me to be on ssri meds and anti anxiety but it's really all b12. Anyways. I took a sublingual b12 pill and started shaking uncontrollably with little to no anxiety. Why did this happen? Had to call 911. Heard something about potassium.

Hi Zenmaster6 are you in the UK?

If you have been diagnosed with P.A. sublinguals will be no good for you - why has your doctor not prescribed B12 injections?

Please supply some more details about yourself so that the "night owls" can advise you as it's my bedtime now.

Be assured that with the right treatment there is life after P.A. as I've had it for 46 years and I'm still "clivealive" and 77 years of age.

I wish you well

I hope you find the help you need.

The folks here are a great resource. But if you want guidance it will help to do as clivealive suggested and provide more info such as where you are and how you were diagnosed with PA. Sublingual B12 should not have that kind of effect if you have PA as you would only absorb a tiny amount through the skin in your mouth. I had some weird reactions to the shots - including shakiness. I am attributing that to the system shock of suddenly having a lot of B12. If you have been diagnosed with PA you would normally be getting B12 shots.
