I’m reflecting on an experience I had with an osteopath 2yrs ago. I’d never been to one before but had experienced onset of terrible back pain, so decided to go. His first job was to realign my spine. He really struggled to do this. It involves wrenching your pelvis round and the base of my spine wouldn’t budge. He did it in the end and I felt some relief after that appointment. I didn’t attend follow ups because I thought maybe he was rubbish. I am now just wondering whether it wasn’t his fault and maybe was something to do with PA (which I didn’t know about at the time, though I had certainly experienced symptoms for some years). These days I try to stretch and exercise in the mornings because I wake up with such a sore back and am nearly unable to get up. I have a permanent sore spot at the base of my spine on the right hand side. I feel as I stretch that things aren’t really moving as they should. Is this spinal rigidity to do with PA? Could an osteopath help? What does?
I’d be interested in hearing if anyone has something similar to say, treatments to share.

Reading your post and earlier ones - I am wondering if you have had your Thyroid correctly tested. T3 is the active thyroid hormone needed in every cell of your body - including muscles. Rarely tested in the NHS ...
Spinal issues can be caused by tense muscles - we have more muscles than bones ! I have spinal issues and had surgery back in 2007 after over 40 years of discomfort.
I am now well treated for my thyroid and inject B12 weekly. I have occasional flare-ups in back and hips which is normal for someone with Hashimotos and Crohns !
I teach yoga twice a week and swim loads daily and am feeling stronger than before diagnosis back in 2005. It has been a steep learning curve and yes as I hurtle towards 72 I am still learning.
Do you know your VitD level ?
Ooops - sorry. Yes I think Osteopaths are great with releasing muscles tension - when they are good 😊
