I have high (above range) Active B12 as a result of taking oral methylcobalamin. Does that mean that I can be sure that my body is using the available B12?

While the Active B12 test is more accurate than Total B12, I understand that no test exists to determine how the body is using it on a cellular level. The Active B12 test together with MMA, homocysteine and IF antibodies is the most accurate way currently, but even that's not infallible.
Are you having symptoms? What else have you had tested (include results with ranges if possible)?
It means that you have lots of B12, in the right form to be absorbed into the cell. But it doesn’t show that it’s being used properly once it’s in there.
For that you need to test MMA and hCys.
But it’s almost certain that it is being used properly.
