I have just phoned my surgery for repeat prescription for B12 Cyanocobalmin tablets. Just a short while ago the surgery phoned me to ask if I will make an appointment with GP as the guidelines have been updated and wants to discuss this with me. Does anyone have any idea what these updates are? I'd rather go prepared!

New Guidelines for B12?
There has been no change in NICE or BNF guidelines. There may have been a change at local level to try and save cash.
If you’re lucky they may be thinking of switching you to injections.
If you’re unlucky they may be thinking of stopping the pills. In which case you buy them from Amazon (which would probably be cheaper if you pay for your own prescriptions).
Hi walkmiles I think this only applies to injections not the tablets. Ask them to check the BNF Website

I have been having cyanocobamalin injections for over 46 years and the threat of their becoming non-prescribable is worrying for me as I had a bad allergic reaction to hydroxocobamalin when put on it in the mid 1980s. I have only enough vials to last until September.
I clicked on the link and I got a "403 forbidden" page. Does anyone know why?
Mine opened OK
