Saw Neurologist yesterday. Had blood taken for testing...I pointed out that as I had been self injecting homocysteine levels should show up as normal. So he has offered to rerun it in 6 weeks time but I have not to have any Vitamin B12 injections till then. Wonderful except for that I may become functionally deficient in that time and suffer for it!!!!!!!!!

If he had his way we would all be back to one injection every 3 months and that we are experiencing 'placebo' by self injecting.

As for my headaches well 'ibuprofen' quick fix....but here is the problem I have with that, it does not explain why I started getting headaches. Also why I have had them on and off since October last year.

Neurologist has 'kind' approach but I want him to explain why I am suffering and ill, not just come out with the 'one size fits all, standard NHS' waffle!!!!!!! I would like him to be right and I would like not to be suffering....but is he the Fairy Godmother with the magic wand? Oh I need to watch out for 'placebo' effects!!!!!

pan pal , I’d carry on with SI , not worth getting worse . The only cure for nurological symptoms such as headache s etc are b12 injections with co factors such as folic acid , magnesium , b6 , b complex and making sure ferritin and thyroid ok . Good luck

How right you are!!!!!

Well lying awake in bed with hot needle jabs & burning sensations, outter sides of hands, arms, feet and lower legs getting numb. Then the muscles started feeling crampy. Opened my eyes and room was spinning. Got up and started self injecting again.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!
