I have been doing SI since April basically every other day. The pharmacist showed me how to SI when I begged him to, he taught me to grab a fold of skin on my outer thigh and inject into that. Yesterday I tried what I have seen in videos, holding the skin tight. I think I have basically been doing subcutaneous in my thighs, instead of IM. Could that account for the fact that I am not getting the results I expected from the B12?
Thanks Sita

The middle outer third of your thigh is where the muscle is closest to the surface . SC takes longer to be absorbed , but works eventually . Are you using Cynocobalamin , Hydroxocobalamin or Methylcobalamin? Are you supplementing with B9( folate /folic acid) which works together with B12 ? Best wishes .
Cyanocobalamin is what I am using. I got the spot right, I just was pulling the skin up and injecting into that. I am gradually trying to add in Folate, I have had so many problems and felt so unwell that I don’t want to overdo the methylation process, which I am not at all clear about.
Length of needle comes into the equation also . Between 1 - 1 1/2 inches depending on how much fat is on the thigh . There is a way of estimating this, which involves pinching the flesh at the injection site and measuring .I’ve seen it somewhere on the internet . One can use a really fine needle to inject , as B12 is really watery .
My needles are fine, 25 G, and 1 inch, I think all of that is correct. I used the IM stretching the skin method again today, it works so much better, and is painless!
