I have PA and Hashimotos. In the last year my general strength has reduced noticeably, e.g. I feel as if I could dislocate my fingers easily! Very odd and worrying. I am 64 and active. Any advice please.

Both hashis and PA have muscle weakness amongst their symptoms. Its a while since my B12 levels weren't right but I've been struggling with hashis in the past year and have to say that one of the reasons for unilaterally deciding to up my levo earlier this year was the ridiculous lack of muscle strength. Have to say that I wouldn't recommend that anyone makes a unilateral decision on thyroid medication.
One of the things about PA is that your ability to absorb levo is also likely to be impaired so you may need higher doses.
Have you posted on TUK?
Thank you - I’m not sure if this went to the thyroid folk so will re-post. Good idea!
Interesting - I had no idea that PA affects levo uptake. What a complicated nightmare this all is.
Can I ask - are you on a gluten-free diet? I am wondering if this would be helpful.
I am however relieved that this weakness is a feature of my existing problems - was horribly afraid I was embarking on a 3rd autoimmune problem..!!
Thank you for replying x
