When referencing "loading doses" for b12 treatment how many MCG of B12 are in these doses? 1,000 like a standard injection?

Yes,elvistoronto1 , 1,000 mcg , usually referred to as 1mg . An initial loading doseage is 6 injections given over 2 weeks , or in the case of neurological involvement , every other day, until no further improvement occurs . ( the latter treatment I find is difficult to obtain , but it should be followed ) Best wishes .

To the best of my knowledge in Canada no standard treatment protocol exists for B12 deficiency. My GP has me on monthly shots and daily tablets. However we are able to obtain shots through a naturopathic doctor here st doses as high as 25,000 Mcg. Would one of these be the same as 25 shots or would much of it just be excreted.

Yes, much of even a 1000mcg injection is excreted due to filtration by kidneys. I would go with 1000mcg 3X weekly until no further improvement.

Morning elvistoronto yes it is, had my 3 monthly top up last week, I asked nurse which one was she using, she showed me, cobalamin 1000mcg,as I can't absorb B12,but i also.

also use boost spray if needed in between,1200ug, hope your feeling the benefits now, like wedgewood, says, ?my main thing is peripheral neuropathy, but only got 6 loading doses over 2 weeks, but as clive says it takes time, but I do feel better in myself, hope you are feeling better.how country's differ in their knowledge and treatment.
