Hi every1 I need your help. I have b12 injections every 3 months. I had a baby in December 1016 (I had gas and air) only to find out it depleats b12 and that after I should have been given loading shots which I didn't receive ever since I've been trying to play catch up, by the 7th week of having my injection my symptoms come back and by the time I'm due my next 1 I'm completely floored. I've requested that the doctor who diagnosed me phone me to see if he will agree the 8 week injections he will be phoning me on the 23rd what info would be useful to tell him other then my neurological symptoms as they don't seem to know enough about b12. Thankyou for reading

B12 injections
If you are struggling at week 7 rather than struggling consistently then it is unlikely that the problem is really the nitrous oxide - more likely to be that the frequency of shots just doesn't suite you.
There are two possibilities - either your kidneys are very good at removing B12 (in which case a B12 test at 8 weeks would show levels as low again), or you are one of the many that now needs much higher B12 levels after loading shots and week 7 is when levels have fallen below the level that you now need.
You could suggest to your GP that they look at the area on the PAS website that is aimed specifically at helping medical professionals to improve the diagnosis and treatment of PA - which also gives them the opportunity to sign up to regular updates.

Thankyou, I think it may be that the frequency doesnt suit me it makes more sense if i go all the way back to when i was diagnosed π
Am I right in saying to my doctor that according to the NICE guidelines if having neurological side effect then the injections should be offered every 8 weeks rather then 12 ( I just want to make sure I have my facts right). Thankyou
Yes, its part of the NICE guidelines

It is also part of the BCSH guidelines (British Council for Standards in Haematology) on Diagnosis and Treatment of Cobalamin and Folate Disorders
Thankyou so much π
