Hello! I am having a flu right now and the Burning and pins and needles is much worse right now. Like Every nerve in My body is in fire. Has this something to do with b12 ? IT makes me very insecure.
Burning sensations : Hello! I am having... - Pernicious Anaemi...
Burning sensations
B12 is involved in maintaining the immune system. Fever is part of the bodies natural defence mechanism when fighting infection.
Some of us do find that fighting an infection makes us feel as if our B12 levels have been depleted but I'm not aware of any scientific studies in this area.
The anxiety may also be a symptom that your B12 levels have fallen below where you now need them to be.
Sorry can't give you a definitive answer - just possibility.
It may also be that the burning is a symptom of the flu virus you are fighting off.
I had the flu earlier on in the year and it played up my B12 symptoms. Not nice when you are already fighting a 40 degree fever! Luckily, I self inject, so gave myself an extra jab, which seemed to help.
I hope that you feel better soon.
Thank you! Are you also familiar with Burning sensations?
It's difficult to describe the sensation, its sort of half way between pins and needles and burning. Its mainly in my arms and legs. The tingling was so bad at one point before diagnosis that I took my self to A&E, thinking that I was having a stroke.
Thank you again! The Burning i feel is like teatinb something or a bit prickly Burning. And sometimes like a lighter touches me. Or a wave through My legs.
Really after 2 injections? I have now for 5 months two injections per week.
I have been having this problem in my toes for a while now and usually just before I need to inject or, if I left the injection for a day, the day after. I have found soaking my feet in hot water works wonders, not only does the burning sensation disappear but it is also very comforting. The worst dose of this problem was last August when coming home on a 7 hour overnight flight from Canada - I didn't get much sleep. A soak in a hot bath also helps I find. I don't rub dry with a towel, just wrap my feet up and pat the towel and after a bath lie and have a quiet read in a bathrobe to dry off.
Another little trick is to put on a pair of soft socks, especially if there is a bit of tingling or burning sensation in the feet when you get into bed. I use bamboo rayon socks.
That flu is a real nuisance, we had it a couple of weeks ago and the only thing to do was to give into it completely. I had a computer with the TV apps on it right by my bed and slept very soundly through some interesting programs, even the multi-coloured clown outfits of Michael Portillo. Pampering it the way forward.
I am having this issue right now with the flu. Severe burning and skin sensitivity on my back. Usually I only have it on the tops of my hands. I am currently deficient and waiting to have my HoloTC test. Hope you feel better soon
