B12 and Cipralex (for anxiety)

I've been taking 5mg of Cipralex (SSRI) for almost 4 weeks and have been great except last week started with yawning and feeling the need to nap A LOT! Also noticed some twitching and waking up with arms that "have fallen asleep". I'm still receiving injections 3 times a week but I'm thinking that may change next week as my symptoms were all improved until last week. Then today I get the rush of a panic attack and my blood pressure and heart rate increase for no reason. They have been perfect for at least a month. Now I'm wondering if this is a side effect of the medication or a return of my symptoms. I have read somewhere on here that this type of medication can inactivate b12 but when I ask a pharmacist they say no and look at me like I'm crazy. Just wondered if anyone has had any experience with this. Had all of my levels checked today. Of course they didn't check my b12 so will have to go back for that😳

SSRis can deplete folate levels in some patients, which will have a knock on effect on the processes that use B12 because many use both B12 and folate.

suggest that you speak to the dispensing pharmacist and/or your GP - though it is also true that many people you are put on SSRIs go through a period of feeling worse before they start to feel better - it takes a while for most SSRIs to have an effect.
