I am having a big problem with milk products. I am wondering if anyone else has full body illness when ingesting milk in anything, even in breads.

Hi,

I'm aware of others on this forum who have problems with dairy. I personally eat only small amounts of dairy products.

Have your doctors looked into whether or not you have a milk allergy or milk intolerance? I have read that sometimes people can be sensitive to lactose ( a sugar found in milk) and some people react to milk protein ( casein ).

Quite a few on this forum also have sensitivity to gluten and I think some have been diagnosed with Coeliac disease.

Have you been tested for Coeliac disease?

I am not medically trained.

Thanks Sleepybunny, I have not been tested for anything yet. I am staying away from all things milk. If I have any doubts I take Lactose pills. I feel so bad when I have milk products that I figure I may be allergic to it. I don't just get a little gas and bloating from it. As for gluten, I don't have any problems with that.

Thanks again.

Hi how does it affect you?

How were you diagnosed with this intolerance?

Thanks.

Sorry for the delay in replying.

My Dad was also lactose intolerant and so I was tested as a baby.

If I have too much I am sick and have symptoms associated with not being able to digest it.

If you are reacting to the protein in milk, and have access to it, try A2 milk. This type of milk is missing the A1 protein that causes problems for some people.

I have gotten some Lactad products, milk, cottage cheese, and sour cream. What a blessing! Thanks.

I feel for you. I too get really unwell after having any milk product at all, then if I do I have a horrid boil or two about two or three days later. Even supermarket meat often washed in a liquid to prevent deterioration I have found the liquid is made from milk and that also affects me. But it isn't listed on the packets, as it is not required by law.

I feel for you too. Thank you for the info. I'll keep that I mind. Does it help to rinse off the meat before cooking it?

I haven't tried rinsing it, and to be honest I just keep away from it these days. I sometimes have corned beef in a tin, and a bit of organic local chicken.

I understand being careful. It's not worth the risk.

Yes. I get very sick if I eat any dairy. One theory i have read is that this is due to leaky gut and the casein protein is going through the intestinal wall into my bloodstream. No idea if this is accurate.
