Hello All,

My bladder has been overactive and easily irritated for 30 yrs, from July 16 to November 16 it returned to normal, getting to the loo on time , no accidents and no needing to go several times a day and night. However since my B12 jabs it reverted to overactive, and even worse than it ever was. GP gave me a couple of boxes of B12 and I have bought 4 boxes of 10 from Germany, (methyl). In all I've had 26 jabs in December and January. Has anyone else heard of this ? It may be nerve recovering, P's my B12 was 152.

Hi Miglet54. Yes...me πŸ˜–. I could spend all day every day in the bathroom...and still need to go to the bathroom. As for night time πŸ˜–πŸ˜–

When B12 treatment commences, many people reports that their symptoms often appear to get worse before they get better. And one theory is that it may be because healing is taking place, the signals to nerves are getting stronger, and everything goes into 'overdrive' until the brain learns to re-interpret the new healthy signals.

In terms of time scales, getting through this stage seems to take a differing amount of time for each individual so it's not easy to predict when this particular symptom will ease off, and hopefully disappear.

So...no real answers...but it's certainly not uncommon and it is one of the recognised symptoms of B12 deficiency.

However (and there always seems to be one)...if all other symptoms resolve and this one stubbornly remains, then your GP should investigate further.

My bladder problems only really resolved when I started using some adenosylcobalamin - still there but definitely much better since using the adeno - however, that is just me.

Think Foggyme has probably covered everything else

Is the adenosylcobalamin easily obtained, I must admit that I didn't consider anything other than methylcobalamin as it seemed to be what acted on nerves without having to be processed first? Thanks for the reply, you good people are always there to help with our problems. Foggyme me too.

Would you be kind enough to tell me where you purchased adenosylcobalamin? Seems to be a lot on offer at varying prices. Was thinking of the lozenges, would these work as well as pills? Thanks

I purchase most of my B12 supplies from a company called detox people

I too have VERY overactive bladder. Take injection of B12 once a week. I've never thought about the connection.

Nan I'm not certain that's the cause now. I forgot suppliments for just one day and sensitivity became less. I have only taken the iron, during the night and vitD+k2 during day with fattest meal, bladder seems to be improved. I shall give a few more days and introduce the suppliments one at a time. I take Thorns basic B plus adrenal support in the morning, vit D at lunch, bedtime zinc, magnesium and selenium. Iron and vit c during night and Thyroxine about 3 hrs before I get up. B12 jabs twice weekly. I did read that sometimes the b vits can irritate the bladder as can vit c.I've stopped tea too.
