hI RaJender9666 are you having the B12 injected? If so it is not surprising your level is high - it would be more worrying if it was low.

Are you also supplementing with folic acid? If not do you know what your Folate level is?

It is not uncommon for some symptoms to appear to get worse before they get better as the B12 starts repairing the damage done to your nervous system and your brain starts getting multiple messages from part of the body it had "forgotten about" or lost contact with.

I sometimes liken it to a badly tuned radio on which you have turned the volume up high trying to catch the programme you want when all of a sudden the signal comes in loud and clear and the blast nearly deafens you.

A lot will depend on the severity and longevity of your B12 deficiency as to how long before there is no further improvement or recovery.

Some symptoms will "disappear" quite quickly whereas others may take months or even years. There is no set timescale as we are all different and you may just need to become a "patient patient" for a little while longer.

I am not a medically trained person but I've had P.A. (a form of B12 deficiency) for more than 45 years.

I wish you well

I would advise you not to stop the supplements.

It isn't that your levels have risen. It is that your levels went up to astronomic after the injection and have now fallen. Levels don't really mean much after a loading shot - you need to go on symptoms and it sounds as if you are still symptomatic. It may be that you really needed a series of loading shots - not just one - and as Clivealive says - it does take time - many people don't really notice much for months.

I am assuming that you aren't a vegan.

Rajender - you seem to have a lot going on at the moment. On one level you can take more and more medication to treat/mask symptoms. Or you can focus on the B12.

Would you doctor consider giving you more injections. Tablets don't work for everyone. It may also be the type of B12 you are taking - particularly if everything is methyl-B12.

Please note that this site is not a substitute for good professional medical advice. You really do need to work with your doctor.
