Jotk, I think you really need to speak to your doctor - the one that arranged for you to have the injections and get a bit clearer on exactly what they are treating.

If they think that you have an absorption problem (and that would be my assumption if you were identified as folate deficient) then these may be enough but it could be a long process as you will only be absorbing a very small amount from the tablets and injections containing larger amounts of B12 would be more appriopriate.

However, if you don't have an absorption problem and the reason for your deficiency is your diet then consuming large amounts of B12 can result in you needing to continue to take really large amounts of B12 for-ever*, when what you really needed was a much smaller dose for a limited amount of time - 50mcg for a few months - and then drop to smaller supplements to make up for the lack of B12 in your diet.

*B12 isn't toxic - its just that in some people, raising serum B12 kicks of a reaction that stops the B12 getting from your blood into your cells, leaving you deficient where it really counts, in your cells. The easiest way of treating this is to keep serum B12 levels really high so enough trickles through.
