Help!!

I suffer chronic migraines almost on a daily basis for five years now. I am also now going through. Menopause. I went to have my hormone levels checked the other day and when I went in to get them read yesterday she told me that my B 12 was down to eight out of 200 and that she would be putting me on a burst Pack for two months and then possibly B 12 shots. This is all very new to me, I just thought I was extremely tired from being 48 and having a 10-year-old and working midnights at a pretty physical factory. Kind of good to find out that there is a physical exclamation however I don't really know what to expect out of this. Anyone have any ideas, suggestions, stories to share

Hi,

There is a book "Could it Be B12; An Epidemic of Misdiagnoses" by Sally Pacholok and JJ. Stuart which is very comprehensive and has lots of case studies. Authors are from USA.

I also found ""What You Need to Know About Pernicious Anaemia and Vitamin B12 Deficiency" by Martyn Hooper helpful.

Martyn Hooper is the chair of PAS (Pernicious Anaemia Society) which is based in UK but has members from around the world.

I've written some very detailed replies in past weeks so may be something of interest if you search for them. I'm in UK, so some info may be UK specific.

Lots of B12 info in pinned posts on this forum.

Really don't recognise the way the deficiency has been described - would be good if you could get hold of the B12 results - units and the range being used. Sounds as if the test may have been active B12 rather than the normal serum b12.

Curious as well as to what a 'burst Pack' is as also not come across that.

If you want to know my B12 story then please look at my profile.

My (hormonal) migraines also got very bad when my B12 levels were getting low.

I am also interested in knowing if your test was serum or active b12 and what a burst pack is. What country are you in?
