PA clotting characteristics

May I ask if the deformed red blood cells associated with PA are more likely to clot sooner then normal healthy red blood cells? In the past when my blood has been sent for tests the tests have not been done as my blood has clotted in the tube.

Hello Jointpain.

There is an HU Sticky Blood-Hughes forum. Hughes Disease is autoimmune so it seems there may be a connection ?

Hi jointPain. It’s also the case that improperly stored or transported blood samples can be subject to clotting before reaching the lab.

Would be usual for another sample to be sent so that whatever the test was can be undertaken.
