Totally overwhelmed

I do have B 12 deficiency,or so I was told ,some 18 months ago, via a blood test, and that I also had inflammation of the blood. and whatever other was checked ,seemingly were all over the place, up, down ,borderline.. B 12 injections followed ,but not a lot of answers. I would really like to know .what " Inflammation of the blood " is ,and if it is connected to low B 12, or is it a totally different problem. I have not had a blood test since the first one, being told it was not necessary (WHY NOT) so ,I am, and have been since day one of discovery ,in a constant state of stress,as I have other un-treatable problems ,and more or less left in the pending tray. Inflammation of my blood .is my top priority ,,anyone with an answer please???

Hi squeeler was your Folate level "all over the place, up, down ,borderline" when you started having B12 injections?

Folate and B12 help your iron to make red blood cells.

I'm not a medically trained person but there are others on here who will be able to help you.

Hi.

Sorry to hear that things seem overwhelming. I'm not sure what is meant by inflammation of the blood. Have you asked your doctor to explain what it means?

Are you in UK? I'm asking because treatment for B12 deficiency varies from country to country.

"whatever other was checked ,seemingly were all over the place, up, down ,borderline."

One of the most important things I learned from trying to find out what was wrong with me was to always get copies of all my blood tests. Some forum members post results of blood tests on here.

I would have preferred a chat, rather than a shed load of "Where to go ,and what to look up.

I think Sleepybunny was trying to help you by posting those things.

I appreciate you don’t feel good but your comment was a little unfair.

squeeler - I have no idea what 'inflammation of the blood' could be - you really will have to ask the person who used the phrase what they actually meant.

Couple of possibilities:

It could be that tests being done to look for inflammation - measuring levels of particular cells that attack inflation - showed high results.

Possible that they might be using it as a way of explaining macrocytosis - which results in larger rounder red blood cells but somehow I think that is a remote possibility and it is more likely that it was the first possibility.

High levels of infection (which would result in some inflammation markers being high) is one possible result of B12 deficiency
